The hotel is unstaffed, I received a text message on the day of the booking with full details of how to access the property, and where the room key would be available. The hotel is easily located on a busy local street with excellent signage. The parking is on street with an honesty box for the parking ticket, in my case it was £5 for the night, and there were plenty of parking spaces in an adjoining side street. My room was on the top floor, not a problem for us, but carrying bags from the car in an adjoining street, and climbing the stairs might be a consideration for some. The WiFi worked well, at a good speed and was free to use. The room was of a good size, clean, light and airy, obviously there was a little traffic noise, but traffic was light during the night, and didn’t bother me. The bathroom again was a good size, again clean, we didn’t use the shower, so can’t comment, the sink and hot water was sufficient for our needs. Electric power sockets, again this can be problematic in some hotels, but in my room there were outlets by the bed, and both sides of the room by the window. The room lighting was again excellent, with dimmable main lights, and bedside lamps. The tea / coffee making facilities again surpassed my expectations with ground coffee, both decaffeinated, and regular provided, with a nice cafetière. There were coat hangers provided for hanging clothes. I liked that the original character features of the room had been retained, with a fire place, and mantle piece, and a high ceiling. The only negative I found was a missing joining strip in the doorway to the bathroom, which looked untidy, and could be a trip hazard.

Everything was fantastic. There honestly wasn't anything that I could pick fault with. Andy and his family that run is hotel are the most opening, down to earth people you could meet. Talk about accommodating, as there's no fridge in the room. We had to speak to Andy regarding my child's medication needing one. He made this so easy for us, and when we needed it at different times within our stay, it was never a problem at all. This was even to the point of him revolving his time around us. This family that runs the hotel are amazing people, even down to the 9 year old who helps server breakfast. To summarise, breakfast is lovely, all the staff are amazing, room great size, clean and comfortable. Pool, sauna, hottub brilliant. Honestly, Chapel House is the place to stay in Scarborough. 110% I would stay again.

Was first a little unsure about booking due to some negative reviews but my word, I couldn't disagree more. Check in so easy with clear instructions for self check in. Communication with owners was so easy. Location is on a main street and owners kindly provided ear plugs but these were not needed. Room was clean and tidy and communal areas spotless. The breakfast was absolutely worth the stay alone!! Porridge is an absolute necessity to try ❤️ Owners absolutely wonderful and must say a huge thank you on behalf on my son too. Being autistic it can be difficult for him to settle in front of strangers but he was made to feel so welcome and even played tunes on the piano for everyone. Would definitely stay again 😁

Very well presented lobby & pool table with beer barrel tables & seats gave the feeling of your own private bar area (bring your own drinks) 😁 Room was basic but extremely spacious & clean. Great location for beach, promenade & shops/restaurants. Good communication regarding self-check in details. HIGHLIGHT **Beautiful breakfast with top quality local ingredients** Friendly breakfast staff. Free Parking discs very helpful when only required for 3hrs or less outside of the parking restrictions.

The staff were so lovely we bumped into them as we arrived they let us know where our room was and how to use the door ( they were doing some repairs on it and the lock was a little diffocult) the room was spa house and clean, the bathroom had both a bath and a shower plenty of clean towels were provided and a small space heated and a drying rack wich was incredibly useful as I did go for a swim
